Eefje Smulders

Production coördinator

Eefje Smulders, 1981, Berlicum (North Brabant), spread her wings at an early age. After she finished secondary school as a 16 years old girl, she went to the US on her own to live with a hosting family in Iowa and to one American High School year.
Back home she was ready to easily finish her higher secondary education and to travel to a far away country again: Australia.Down under she did not only travel, but also got a job in Sydney at a marketing company.
When she got back again, she knew what she wanted to study: Media & Entertainment Management. An traineeship at Motel Film offered her first opportunity to get to know the film business.
But because Australia kept attracting her, she decided to study "Anthropology, Filmstudies and Aboriginal Studies" at Macquerie University in Sydney for half a year.
When she came back she finished her Dutch study at 1 More Film with the thesis: "New Opportunities for the Arthouse Film".

Eefjes tremendous energy was soon recognized, so even before she graduated she already got het first job at IdtV as the assistant of both executive producers there. But after a year of office work, she discovered her longing for being more directly involved with the productions.
So she has free-lanced for 5 intensive years as Assistant Line Producer for several production companies like Pupkin, Lemming Film, Blazhoffski and Motel Film.

She has build up a lot of experience and when her need for some sort of a social life grew stronger, she decided it was time for a more regular kind of job. And because she wanted to learn more about another aspect of the film business, she accepted an interim job as Press & Publicity Manager at Cinéart.

So the job at BosBros was heaven-sent. A professional was needed who could support the executive producer and coordinate the productions. Who could be more fit for this job than Eefje?
Allthough Eefje only joined BosBros since March 2011 it feels like she's always been part of the team.
What her future ambitions are? She wants to continue developing herself and to learn about as many aspects of the film business as possible. Well, that's why she's the right person at the right film company!
