About Fish & Revolution is a story about actual dilemmas. Two opposite worlds meet, somewhere on a not so special fishing bank in Holland. And here drama starts. Gerards lives in a straitjacket. After a working life as a truck-driver full of freedom and movement, he now lives as a pensioner, his marriages has gotten into a rut, his friendships have extinguished and the fish he catches is too small. When a group of Polish people arrives, the world changes completely. The film has a light tone, with a subtle sense of humor. The scenes seem to cause only minor ripples on the surface of daily life, but altogether they tell us a bigger story of fear and longing.
