Eight year old Katootje Tekelenburg lives with her parents in a suburb in a small place called Droogbaak. Her family is involved in a constant battle between them and neighbour van Zanten, who, just like them, wants to win the award for 'The most decent family of the Netherlands'; The Emmy Gee Trofee. This award will be given away by the Queen of the Netherlands. Everything goes smoothly for family Tekelenburg, untill Aunt Gazeuse from France decides to come and visit them.......
