Anne and Lotte (both 10 years old) stand at the edge of the swimming pool, giggling. 'Shall we jump together?' Lotte asks. They hold eachothers hands. Suddenly three boys rudely push Lotte into the water. She emerges puffing and Anne looks at her, startled.
It is the kick-off for a day of swimming at the subtropical swimming paradise. Or to be more specific, for a day of survival. Because avoiding a kissing pair that blocks the exit of the bubble pool can be done by sneaking away through the plant stand, but avoiding pestering co-swimmers cannot.
The events of that day make Anne and Lotte realize their days of carefree childhood are over. Never before had they felt so uncomfortable in their bodies. But once they're safe on their way home they call it a supercool day....
